Hostel | Snöå Bruk is located in the most beautiful part of western Dalarna, in a genuine agricultural and farm estate environment. The hostel has a strong cultural profile, with singing and social activity at its heart.
In the main building there is a well-tuned piano, good acoustics and plenty of space. The hostel is run with the attitude that it should be visited and accessible by everyone, including guests with allergies, asthma and other special needs. This means that the entire facility is smoke-free, uses only environmentally friendly cleaning products and has no allergenic plants.
Snöå Bruk was initially an old ironworks. It then became one of Sweden’s first agricultural schools and the last to close. Guests are accommodated in the old student quarters and the farm master’s house, while conferences are held in Stora och Lilla textil (the Old and Small textile), which is the old weaving hall. The iron mill was closed down in the mid 1800s, but its ruins remain.
